NetLab: What Opportunities Does Technology offer Architecture?

The Network Architecture Lab is housed at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. Directed by Kazys Varnelis, the lab investigates the impact of digital technology, telecommunications and changing sociocultural condition on architecture, the city, and society.

The NetLab seeks to both document emergent condition (in technology and communications) and to produce new sites of practice and innovative working methods for architecture in the twenty-first century pursuing critical thought in architecture, text, new media design, film production and environment design.
