Architects are doers, but as designers many of us are dreamers as well – and optimistic ones at that. We believe we hold the ability to shape the future of our cities. Fast Company has pulled together a great list of articles from Futurist Rita J. King, on helping people imagine the future that architects potentially already see.
Richard Saul Wurman, creator of TED, launched the Urban Observatory to compare cities data against one another, side-by-side, on the same scale. The notion is a follow-up to a book he published in 1962 featuring models of 50 world cities on the same scale.
Architects are not necessarily known for being business savvy, so I was admittedly surprised to see three honorees who work in or are advocates of the built environment make Fast Company’s 2013 List of 100 Most Creative People in Business.
