The PoA Lab is an online community for those who are tired of the notion of traditional practice and a limited definition of what it means to practice architecture and be an architect.
Ever find yourself wondering if there is a different, better, or entirely new way of doing things? Do you find that the traditional role of the architect doesn’t excite you? Are you wondering what other paths are available to you, have an idea to expand beyond traditional practice, or are interested in trying to launch something new altogether?
You’re not alone, and others share these thoughts in the profession. Many have struggled with traditional practice limits and simultaneously being told that those with an architecture degree can “do anything.”
For the profession to remain relevant, we need to adapt our practices to continue to deliver value when our clients are not building. Rather than isolating individuals that have left the profession, we need to learn from them and figure out how to expand the definition of what it means to practice architecture.
At the Practice of Architecture, we believe that broadening the definition of practice will collectively raise the profession. We’re building a private community in support of that bigger vision.
The PoA Lab is a private community for those on the profession’s edges, whether they are in an architecture firm or have moved on altogether.
The journey ahead is not necessarily straightforward, but it is full of opportunity. We are looking for a way to get there faster together.
We are better together, and will work to respond to the needs of the community. At Practice of Architecture, our mantra for 2021 is agility. Which means that as our community grows it will continue to evolve. Here is what we offer today.
You’ll have FREE access to our growing list of recorded webinars (offered monthly starting March, 2021) with industry experts and corresponding AIA CEUs opportunities. If you miss the live recording, you’ll still have access to earn CEUs on demand by taking the corresponding quiz after watching the recording.
PoA LAB Members will have access to our Practice Playbooks, and all future updates, as long as they maintain their membership. Current playbooks include the Hybrid Practice Playbook and SWOT Analysis for Decision-Making.
Each month we will explore a different book focused on professional development or new approaches to business. Specifically, we will try to understand what the key takeaways mean for individuals in the architecture and design industry. Read along and join in the discussion. Or if you prefer, just download the cliff notes version of each of the books that we read.
AWESOME! Take these next steps:
We want to ensure a thriving and active community within the PoA LAB of individuals who are focused on pushing architecture practice in new directions, and are only letting in a limited number of members every month to ensure an engaged community rather than allowing for open enrollment.
Yes. Our member pricing is $49/month or $490/year. Members can cancel their subscriptions at any time.

Absolutely not! Your invite will be valid for a period of time once you receive it. If you do not wish to join, you can just ignore it. Still, please only apply if you’re very serious about it. Out team spends time reviewing each application.
We invite a new cohort of members to the PoA Lab every month, the first week in the month.
We offer everyone a 30-day money back guarantee. If you are unhappy with your membership for any reason, let us know within the first 30 days of membership and we will refund your payment.
