/// WORK WITH US
Business and culture first. Then technology.
Practice of Architecture works directly with firm leaders on how the firm runs, how its people work together, and where it could grow. Then we make sure the technology serves all of it. Not a workshop that ends with a report you carry alone.
§ 01 / THE WORK
What we look at, in this order.
- The business.
- How the firm runs, how it makes money, who decides, and what it wants to become. That includes services it could add, and work it already does well that could reach more clients.
- The culture.
- How people work together, who can question how things are done, and whether staff trust the change they are being asked to make.
- The technology.
- What it is for, what it costs over its life, who inside the firm owns it, and what happens after the purchase. We never recommend vendors.
§ 02 / HOW IT RUNS
Every engagement starts the same way, and it has a beginning and an end.
- A first conversation. You tell us where the business stands. Nothing to prepare.
- A look at the firm. We start with the Adaptability Read and talk with up to six of the people who run things day to day.
- An agreement on what to work on. A short written scope: what we will work on, who is involved, and for how long.
- Working sessions. About six, over no more than six months, each on a decision in front of the firm. Preparation and written follow-up are part of the work.
- What stays with the firm. Decisions made and written down, with people inside the firm who own them after we leave.
Some firms need more: someone leading operations for a stretch, or help through a purchase, a sale, or a leadership transition. That work is scoped separately, once we have worked together.
§ 03 / WHO LEADS THIS WORK

Evelyn Lee, FAIA, founder of Practice of Architecture and 2025 President of the AIA, leads this work.
You work on the problem with someone who has spent years on the project side, the owner's side, and inside technology companies. We also work with the technology companies building for AECO.
/// BOARD & ADVISORY

§ 04 / START THE CONVERSATION
Tell us where the business stands.
Every inquiry is read personally. If it fits, you will get a reply and a call invitation. Either way you will hear back.
§ 05 / NOT READY YET
The Adaptability Read is free, takes about six minutes, and shows how adaptable your firm is. It asks for your name, email and firm.
Take the Adaptability ReadStart with the free thinking; no conversation required.
